i have used the guy from ebay that does the gearbox, transfer case and steering a few times and they work great. if your gearbox is playing up most of the time the transfer case is stuffed or on the way out as well and worth the extra 5 min to do that. |

Yeah Bruce or any Suzuki shop. Fairly common item. A new bush will make it feel brand new again. |

Okay, i'm in the shed, have the replacement bits, the question is how do i get the new shifter bush on ? The old one ( shown in pic ) has a split up one side so it just slipped off, the brand new one has no split Before i break something, thought i'd ask here, cheers.

From the top Take the knob off ( unscrews) slide the boot, locking ring and washer off. Then apply some grease to the bush and slide on. |

Thanks FZ. It took me longer to do the post above than it did to actually replace the bush and bolt gearstick back in. Massive improvement ! $22 for bush, $6 for bolt = bran new box

I did this about a year ago, and it only half fixed it. suzisport just said make sure I line it up with the locator, does a new bolt make that much difference. bye |

The old bolt had almost worn away to nothing. When tightened the bolt end slides into a slot on the ball at the base of the gearstick, nice tight fit now with the new bolt. |
