Post subject:  Removing interior A-pillar trim from GV
Does anyone know how to remove the plastic interior trim on the drivers side A pillar?

I've sorta got it off on the door side but there seems to be a few clips somewhere holding it down.

FWIW it's a 2002 GV.

Just pull it. hard. thats if its similar to the SWB, I have pulled some of them off, but not in My LWB.

Link`s to outer`s only work if your a member......

X2 on Mugwui, plastic clip`s hold the plastic trim to the a pillar, but 1st step is to remove the step panel`s, then the trim pull`s off.

same question was asked on outers & i thought i answered it there?

the thing is held on with 3 christmas tree plugs or similar plugs, it's been a few years since i had mine off.

Which piece is the step panel you mentioned? Is this the one down in the footwell as I'm not sure how those pieces are connected since there's a dash in between?

The bit you "step" on when getting in, I had a look at mine today & there is 3 clip`s that hold it on,,, Get a good torch & stick ya head in & you will see them, sum types of clips just pull out, others need a screw driver, others the center push`s in then th whole clip comes out....

I think we're getting confused here. I'm referring to the plastic panel that covers the A-pillar next to the windscreen. You're referring to the panels down at foot level. I've pulled the foot-level panels out before, that's no problem.

I can't see any plastic clips on the A-pillar plastic bit which is my problem.

They aren't visible from the outside, just start from the top & work your way down. You will find them, just be gentle pulling it away from the pillar to find the clips.

I actually did this the other day (was wondering if i could mount a grab handle)

Stick your fingers in between the rubber door seal and the trim - you should be able to do this quite easily on the cieling end of the trim (not the dash end)

The trim has 3 xmas tree type plugs, closer to the windscreen side- and they're in quite tight! normally you'd just give it a good yank and it'll pop out - not this one.

I used a screwdriver, stuck it in from next to the door seal, put it next to the plug, and pushed the plug out (rather than pulling it out as its in so tight you'll probably bend/crack the trim).

Once the first one is out, the others are fairly easy.

Just a tip - when looking for the first plug, you may need a torch as its a bit hard to spot will all the cardboard packing etc thats in there

the plugs are captive in the trim & would be in line with the pillar if you know what I mean.

Just have a look, it will be pretty obvious once you look at it!!

Hmm....how to explain this...

The plugs go into the side of the pillar from the centre of the dash. Meaning if you were sitting in the drivers seat, you will need to pull the trim off towards the dash - rather than down...if that makes sence.

Find the plugs as i said before, and it'll make sence when you see it
