i have just put a 1.6 carby vitara engine in my sierra got a problem the bolt coming out of the carby hits the bonnet and is there a way to make my 1.3 air intake fit onto the 1.6 carby?

do you have a body lift?
get your local mechanist to make an adapter like the one half way down this page.

Put one on my mates suzi, used a hammer, and some extra washers, also needs a soft seal.

Bit of panel beating, gently, and you don't even notice it.

Spring lift is different from body lift. If you don't have a body lift or don't want to use one then just massage the bonnet.

whats a soft seal? and where can you get them

I used some old wet suit stubby holder cut to size.

The carby to manifold is not an exact tight fit, maybe you can get a bought gasket, but a wet suit stubby holder is quite soft and pliant and fits, and seals very well.
