Post subject:  floor covering ? paint on at home ?
Getting a vit painted, they are painting the floor in the back as pictured but i have to paint the rest.

any suggestions for some sort of coating that comes up black and nice and strong for the floor in the front i can apply myself at home, preferably nothing brush on because that gets messy as.

isn't it normally sticky though ? and stays weird and sticky, i did mine with some brush on stuff and it never went hard so shit gets stuck in it

this stuff is as tuff as fuck and can be top coated with most types of auto paints.
the c guard should be around $25 per ltr and you should get change from $20 for the gun.

Carpet?

Rhino lining or something like that is hard as, body deadener comes in hard and soft too, soft is crap

i tared the floor in mine , waited a day, then sprayed it with some pressure pack black. its not sticky at all.

in this pick i hadn't done the drivers footwell as it was done previously

Saam, don't use body deadener or tar based products, go to Supercheap and buy spray cans of "Stone Guard", it sets hard yet flexible so it wont crack, it is designed for floors, luggage areas and bottoms of gaurds etc and it leaves a nice finish and it comes in black. The stuff in Sheps pic is the same stuff just different brand, if you have a compressor and use the one litre can and applicator gun like in Sheps pic it comes out even better. If the floor is nice and clean you could also use spray cans of dark charcoal hammer finish from Supercheap, it's an industrial paint and drys very hard and is easy to clean. (no i don't have Supercheap shares but I am a frequent customer)

that sounds like the go, easy to clean sounds like the best idea for a floor.

if you want black and have a spray gun. white knight charcoal hammertone can
take a Y of black tint. just don't spray hammertone with a good gun as
you wont be able to clean all the silicone out of the gun.
i am painting mine with black tinted hammertone at the moment so
if you give me a day or so i can post a photo for ya.

yes white knight brand can take one y per liter of tint however red and yellow are not really sunfast.

this is one coat of charcoal with a Y of black over a white primer, also has gold metal flake 8)
also remember that once it is painted with hammertone it is nearly imposable to overcoat
with anything but hammertone as the hammer affect is from silicone in the paint.

Whats wrong with killrust? I was going to clean strip my rusty chassis and paint it in killrust to keep the rustaway. does it flake etc?

The last 2 jobs I have used killrust on have taken weeks to dry properly.

I think it is affected by high humidity.

use chassis paint as it is made to paint chassis's and is around a third the price of killrust.
