Hi All,

I'm just about to install a GTI engine in my SWB and was just wanting to know where people are mounting there Surge Tanks.

I would like it to be under the car but after having a good look under there, I don't beleive I will be able to.

Looks like it will have to be in the cabin (Possibly right behind the drivers seat, with the pumps mounted underneath on the chassis rail)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Daniel

Have you bought the surge tank already?

If not, hunt for a coily tank or vit tank with vit fuel pump.

(i have a coily tank laying around, but it is dented and needs a vit pump pm me :D )

if you can just get a swb EFI vitara tank with in tank EFI pump. no messing around with lift pumps, surge tanks, Hp pumps...

if you can weld its a really easy thing to mount where the old sierra tank fits. Gives you around 50ish litre capacity as well.

Got my set up just behind the seat, bolted to the floor. Dont recommend it tho, the noise drives you nuts after a while. Not that I can hear it over my bloody loud exhaust these days! Got a vit tank to go in soon tho. Just gotta get off my arse and do it!
