Hey fellas, picked up this a couple of weeks back
Image
The bloke who had it said it was getting water in the oil so he swapped the head gasket, still got water in the oil so he swapped heads and that didnt fix the problem either. Hence how I picked it up for nix
Ripped the head off the other day and the 2nd pot was half full of water and the rest had surface rust and a little bit of water in them. So I cleaned up the head and checked to see if there was any warping with a straight edge and feeler gauges. The most gap I could find was at the thinnest point between the bores @ .0035"/.09mm ( that was between 2nd and 3rd pots)
Soooo... How much do you allow for the head bolts to pull down?
If this is too much, how much would you expect to pay to get it machined?
When I took the head off there was gasket goo every where, a few water jackets were blocked and it had even pushed into the bore so compression would of been up a bit.
I picked the wheels and tyres up from the wreckers for $170 for 5 withone brand new,2 @ 50% and 2 @75%.
Cheers for any info/thoughts.
Rito
It's a f10 motor by the way. cheers.

Prick.

If it`s that ugly inside the block, I`d be inclined to do a strip down, or get a good running eng, even if you did do the head the block could still have shit in it causing it to overheat & bugger the head again.
Tha head or block could be cracked or porous to.

To be on the safe side you should give the car to me..

$300-$400 for full head rebuild, valves and all.

One thing I know about zooks is you can thrash 'em, cook 'em, then thrash 'em some more, but if you take that head off, you can almost garantee it will warp.

You might as well do bearings and mains for $150ish and give the cylinder bores a quick bead hone. No work at all really. Should keep it ticking over for a few more years. :D

I think we frightened him off, thay look like f 100, if you go to a wrecker F100 should give you more variety in alloy`s.

If the twit put gasket goo on the headgasket no wonder it didnt seal

if the head isnt warped try again with a new gasket, 1 litres are tough as nails, it'll handle it :)
