The only thing i`ve seen a 32/36 run properly on is a 2lt pinto eng, have tried to use them on heap`s of different eng`s to no avail, get a vit carb or go Efi & save your self a lot of pain..

For a 1.3L with extractors and a 2 inch exhaust system try:

Mains:
Primary 140, secondary 135

Idle:
Primary 60, Secondary 55

Air correctors:
Primary 170, secondary 180

Thats what I used to run, no problems at all. Got 45rwkw out of it and 10-11k's per liter highway running at 100kph.

They have there problems but arn't as crap as people make them out to be. I set mine up by the 'feel' and 'sound' of the engine and once tested on the dyno pulled a consistant 13.5-14.5:1 air/fuel mixture according to the wideband o2 sensor.

Good luck, Dan

I have seen a fully rebuilt Weber 32/36 on ebay for $400 and change, the seller gives a good write up/explanation about them, and they sound really good, i was going to get one for my 89 JLX Vitara... but my Zook mechanic says others have tried them, and brought them into him to fix, as they are trouble to get to idle properly, and need adjusting alot... so i dont know what to think...
Maybe if i just get my Vitara Carby reconditioned or an exchange one...

Anybody got any advice ?

Ok the only issue I had with mine was that I had a slight stumble of idle just where the main circuit kicked in. Quite bareable but noticable. Finally found a descent carb guy that actually knew what he was talking about and got him to drill an extra transistion port slightly closer to the closed throttle plate. Hence it pulled the main circuit on quicker. Problem solved. Ran like a dream for teh 3 years I had it. Never let me down. As for a bad idle, must of had a vacume leak or way off tune in teh idle circuit. Mine was smooth as silk, even wayyy down to 500 rpm! Constant adjusting? I would like to know hwta the mechanic was constantly adjusting. Unless the carb was on its last legs and buggered as there really isn't any issues here. Once you find the correct jet setup and properly adjust the idle mixture/speed its done! The jets dont go out of tune nor does the idle mixture screw in my experience. Its a wayy simpler carb than std hence less to go wrong in my point of view.
It all comes down to what you want out of it. Absoultly crazy angles and yes I will stall out compared to a std carb. Although with a combination of crawler gears and careful throttle control mine worked quite well. Descent performance for a bolt on as well as fuel ecomony if you take it easy.
