put it in, do the nut up till you still have a bit of free play in the clutch arm and your set

Mine does burn a bit when extreme playing.

when you fit the new cable , do the adjuster nut up until about 5mm of thread is hanging out past the adjuster nut , you then adjust the 2 nuts at the bracket on the block so that when you apply pressure with your finger on the clutch pedal , you can push the pedal down 20-25mm before you feel any resistance . This is called pedal freeplay.

If you dont have any pedal freeplay , the throwout bearing will be resting against the pressure plate constantly spinning , this is not good , in extreme cases of being too tight , the throwout bearing will be semi disengaging the clutch and will cause the clutch to slip.

too much pedal freeplay will cause the clutch to engage very low (and cause hard selecting of gears and/or crunching), not enough freeplay will cause it to engage high.

as long as you have some pedal freeplay , you can virtually adjust to where you feel comfortable with it engaging.

if you have correct freeplay (20-25mm), and the clutch doesnt disengage fully , you could have a worn clutch , or other issues
