im thinking of using a 16 inch rim. but im not sure what 16" rims will fit a sierra.

i want to use a 205 or 215 with 70 profile 16inch tyre. they come very close to the original size tyre.

i use 205/75 R15 but hardly anyone sells those profile tyres.

i dont want to change the diameter of my tyre too much and therefore throw the speedo out.

you should try the 2L vitara rim. 16 by 6.5

you could get GV rims and run a 235/60R16

Same size as original but wider so you get a better ride

Or 225/70R16 is very popular too.

Or you could get 235/70R15 on your standard rims

wouldnt the 235/70 r15 need to be on a 15x6" rim
i only have 15x5.5 rims

I worked in thetyre game for 12 years. I never saw any tyre damage from too narrow a rim. I saw many tyres damaged by underinflation/overloading but never by too NARROW a rim

I have 30x9.5R15 on 5.5, 31x10.50R15 on 6 inch rims I have even fitted a 26x12.00-12 on a 4 inch rim

Don't worry about rim width. They will be better on the standard 5.5 anyway.

the 75 series tyre is always a LT ( light truck) construction and the 70 series tyres are passenger rated construction.

Check them for a P or LT on the descriptions. The P tyres are way better for on road use and sierra use. They are much sofetr riding and have the same amount of plies in the sidewall.

at the moment i have 205/75R15 LT Firestone ASR. i wondered why the hell the ride is so rough.

ok so ill take back the 16inch rim idea. if i keep my 15x5.5" rims and want an all terrain tyre in say 215 or 225 what would be a good COMMON SIZE in 15"
