Was very minor leak......not overheating

Seems a.o.k. and heaps of power(at least 40hp I reckon!)

As long as you didn't overheat you should be able to get away without machining the head, though it is preferable that you do. Hell like everything else (including myself) head gaskets blow just from old age.
