Post subject:  heater unit

just wondering if theres an easy way of getting the heater unit out as it is clogged with mud and i want to clean it...

Not really, it's pretty much a pull the dash out job. Apparantly you can drill a hole in the side of it and suck stuff out with a vacuum cleaner. I'd rather pull the lot out if it's that gunked up

yea i think its pretty bad. that sucks i was trying to just get part of it apart to clean it but didnt work

Pulling the whole dash out isn't anywhere near as hard as you'd think.
Disconnect heater hoses ion engine bay side of firewall.
Undo the nut near the hoses in engine bay.
Fold the windscreen down and undo the 4 screws.
Disconnect the brake rod from the pedal.
Undo the wiring plugs behind the glovebox.
Undo the heater tap cable in engine bay.
Undo steering flexi joint at steering box.
Undo the bolts that hold the pipe bar to body under each side of dash and it'll come out.
If I've missed something don't blame me... You'll work it out.

decided the easiest way was to disconnect drain hoses and get the hose out and flush the water through from outside vent which washed all the mud out works good so far
