OK.

I have a 40mm Tough Dog setup on my 09 Jimny, and definitely want to go to 80mm eventually, but for now I cannot justify spending $1,800 on the Tough Dog setup as I only recently spent $900 on the 40mm setup.

If I bought 30mm coil spacers so that I have 70mm lift what other things do I need to consider?

I believe I need an adjustable panhard rod? What about extended brake lines...I know I need it for 80mm?

This option looks a heck of a lot cheaper than going for a full system.

What are people's thoughts?

Should have thought of that!

It answered my questions. Yes I would need longer break lines and definitely a panhard rod.

Not even sure if my 40mm springs would cut it.

panhard rods at both end. Plus either castor correction bushes or custom control arms.. it adds up..

Hi Vermin, I went down the spacer route solely because it would be a cheaper way to get the extra height I wanted. They have worked well. I have quite good articulation. I ran mine for a few months on standard Panhard Rods but axles were definitely off centre. At 70mm over stock your brake lines will be too short when 4WDing.

Your shocks will be too short for the extra lift so you'll actually loose some wheel travel if you don't upgrade them.
