i need some help asap. Im trying to fit my transfer case back in the car, how do you remove the gear stick from it to make it easier to put back in?

there should b a rubber boot on the stick which seals onto the case, remove the boot. under that there should b a spring loaded steal ring which u need to push into the case and turn, like u would with a taillight globe, which should then come out and release the stick
