| Post subject: | Tacho only works when heater fan is turned on ??? G13B Conv |
Hi All, I've just finished my G13B conversion and have a problem with my Tacho. It only works when the heater fan is turned on ??? I've picked up the signal from the engine bay. It is definitley connected to the correct wire, just don't understand why it only works when the blower fan is turned on. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Daniel |

How is it wired, the positive feed I mean. Is it possible that the tacho's +ve supply is coming from the switch side of the fan? Just a thought. I hate auto electrics..... Did it work before?? I assume it did. |

I meant the +ve wire that powers the tacho, not the pulse wire. Only because he said it works when the fan is on |

It's the factory tachometer and I'm using the negative feed from the ecu going to the original negative tachometer feed. I don't think the +ve would be connected to the heater blower fan unless they do that from the factory. |

This may sound a bit silly, but, did you do ANYTHING else to the car at the same time as the conversion? Where did you get your power from for the ECU? It has to be some thing you've done, just go back & looky. Try pulling the fuse for the fan(blower) & see if the eng still run's. |

All power wires are from the battrery via switched relays. Car runs fine. It's just that the tacho doesn't work. |
