If the only reason for the lift is to protect the fuel tank, maybe some armour for the tank might be an easier option. Are you looking for 3-4" Spring lift? Thats quite a lot, not to mention from what I've heard you won't get away with it in QLD. |

Yeah i lve in QLD and the legal limit is no more than 2 inchs of its orgnl lift, but the rules are looose i saw i guy on the weekend with a series 60 landcruser with a 6 inch skyjack and 3 inch body running 32 muddies with plates and rego hahh and their leaf spings yes |

Perhaps if you are causing that much damage to the car, you need to be looking at: 1. Your driving style/ability. 2. Driving tracks which suit your vehicle better. Much cheaper that way... |

I've driven numerous trips (through some pretty rough terrain) in standard height Sierras and Vitaras, never put a rock through my fuel tank. But thats cos I look where I'm going and pick my lines. And if I know I can't make it without damaging my car, I find a way around. That way you save a lot of money on unneccesary lifts and repairs to the undercarriage... |

No, it goes all over WA. It has since had a 2" spring lift but thats only as I had to replace the shot old springs anyway. You can always find a way around anything if you don't wish to damage your car. And if you take things carefully there is no need to put rocks through anything. If however you like throwing your car around and racing up hills, then by all means lift it 4 inches to help clear the rocks, but you'll only end up with the car upside down, I reckon... |

I got my lift from a bloke in Brisbane, he was just selling everything off he project, he wanted $500 for the 2inch suspension lift and an extra $100 for a tough dog return to center, offer $400 for the lot and he accepted haha and they were brand new. Then 210 for the body lift from on here, then i got my tires for around $1200. goes pretty good now. But then again i have managed to dent my fuel tank, my chassis rail, my cross member on the chassis and my front diff center haha. Where were ya, what track, when you did it. |

It all depends on what you plan on using your car for, i hate taking the easy track but i no my limits, i learnt that after having the zuke on its side and nearly rolling it a few times. sounds to me that yours is used more as a tourer and not a bash around 4wd. If your thinking of a 4inch lift you have to remember that a 4inch suspension lift wont let you run much bigger tires with out scrubbing. You will need a body lift as well. So a 4inch suspension and then 2inch body lift is huge in a sierra if your then running bigger tires on top of that. thats just my opinion though.. |

One thing to consider about body lift is that it will give you no more cleaance at all. Your tank, diffs, and chassis will still be in exactly the same place. And spring lifts will lift the tank, but the diffs will still be in the same place. |

get some 2" lift springs for the rear put your rears up front ((RUF)) 2" body and some 31s its all you need. I have mine jacked all to hell and I hate it and I am bringing it back to exactly what I just said. I had a zook this week end run rings around me with that set up. |

Of course, springs can compress as well, and when they do the lowest point at which your fuel tank will sit will be just as low as it was with stock springs... |

Boys I don't want to sound like your dad but there is nothing worse than that blue light coming on behind you when you know that it is defective. You are on your measly 4 point "P"s and its -1 for the lift, -1 for the big tyres, -1 for no mudflaps and -1 for whatever other dodgy crap you have done. DON'T sell your BMX you will be needing it soon. It may not be this week but it will happen..... |
