In truth? same sort of deal. Moreys was around first. the Chemist that developed the oil stabiliser got the shits and left, started his own called lucas. That was the story given to me a few years ago in the days when I worked in an automotive parts store that sold both. Sounds feesable!

cheers guys thought that'd be the case anyone use it in their engine or better for gearbox, transfer case, and diffs? |

I run lightweight synthetic threw out. Everything has Redline bar the engine, and I run Mobile one there. I do not like the idea of using ultra heavy oils. |

I do not like the idea of using ultra heavy oils. i've got some at home that i bought for my mums car to stop her engine pinging. i have read somewhere that in some engines it can lead to a build up of black gunk somewhere in the engine(can't remember exactly what they said). It's very thick stuff, so i'm not sure how good this is |

Its very similar to chain and bar oil, for chainsaws. In older engines, like holdens red blocks, where the oil drained from the engine, completely into the sump, and at first start, every morning, it took 4 or 5 seconds for the oli light to go out, this was a miricle, first start, instant oil pressure. With even remotely modern engines, its a hindrance. Only use if you have crook oil rings and getting a lot of blow by. |

i was actually thinking of using it in my Jeep engine and manual gearbox, but a bit worried it might not be good for it. I don't own a zook yet  , but thought i could maybe use it in that when i finally find one.
It sounds like good stuff ( reading the label) but worried it might just be marketing hype |

IMHO its all friggin snake oil. Buy the best quality oils you can afford and stick to it, if you are burning oil have a close look at Penrite Oils range of product, they are top notch, Australian made and owned and have an excellent technical dept on a freecall number to answer any questions. No I don't work for them, but I did many years ago. Cheers Geoff |

No I don't work for them, but I did many years ago. Cheers Geoff yeah my dad uses penrite semi synthetic and loves it. was changing every 5k and oil still looked like new, so now he's changing every 7.5k. |

No I don't work for them, but I did many years ago. Cheers Geoff I used to run Penrite in my youth where i was into super powering my red blocks, HPR 50 up in katherine, worked a charm in that heat. Nowdays, mobile 1, 5w50 in all my cars, its only my lil zuk that does not get changed every 5,000k as she leaks a fair bit out, and so for her, every 10,000k, she looses about 3l or so an oil change. |
