I just dropped my motor off at the machining shop and we talked about getting the most out of it and i was told that a lumpy cam and a balance wouldn't go astray as there revy motors and will help on fuel. He said i might have to get another cam wheel as the Ground cam would change the timeing fairly dramaticly. Is this true for sierra's? This is what im thinking about buying Cheers josh:D |

I wouldn't waste my time/money on a lumpy cam for a Sierra... For 4x4 you want low down torque.... A lumpy cam by itself won't make bugger all more power than standard it'll just make the same power at higher revs. |

1st up how much power do you think you'll have? doing the rebuild and the rest? the low down cam would be no good with 6.5 gears, you will run out of puff very quick. i'b be going the bigger one and drive to match it. i'd also be talking to a cam maker here as they can make what ever you want and a custom grind isn't much more than a std grind. maybe $20. new rockers are a must with a new cam as well! |

Hmm he was selling them as a big power gain, but i guess i didn't ask about torque gains... Brett I don't know enough to get a custom one done. Well im going to just get my standard head (and cam) crack tested then just put it back on. Cheers |

ask him how much of a power gain and what do you have to rev it to. power is worked out buy toque and rpm. for a custom grind just ring them up and tell them what you are doing to the engine, what rev reange it will be used in and they will do one for you. |

hmm you make me think it's worth doing gypsy, rejetting the carby is that a drill out job or a shop job? |

shop job put the secondary jet in the primary and then get a 110 jet 4 the secondary most carby places will do it 4 nothen |

Cheers, with your new cam did you have to change your timeing, or the size of the wheel the timeing belt sits on? |
