Hi guys, I'm about to upgrade my standard 205/70 15s to 235/75 15s and was hoping to avoid having to buy all 5 tyres. Call me tight, but I'd like to avoid it. I know that you can't have a different size front and rear when in low range, but can I get away with one smaller corner in low? I have standard open diffs along with everything else. |

Simple. I have run "slightly" different size spares in Tough Tracks, only because I can still get off the track if the mis-match is fitted. You'd be an idiot if you think that is safe on-road. I have my 5th 31 in the back when I am on-road. |

It'll be ok for a short trip, ie: to the tyre shop to fix the flat. I'd put it on the back though, it would pull pretty hard if you had mismatched sizes on the front. |

Thanks guys. Don't get me wrong, I am well aware of the dynamic compromises of having different sizes side to side, but was just concerned about driveline windup that could damage my bits. Cheers for the feedback though, I think I'll save on my spare for the time being, and bother when I embark on some touring. |
