has anyone done it or no of anyone that has done it. Thinkin about putting 1 in my coily an putting hilux running gear under it with 33 or 35's |

There was a white tin top that Chopzuki of OL built many years ago. Running coils and GQ diffs. The guy that bought it off Chopzuki was converting it to 1UZ power and road legal. Think he had a thread on 4wd monthly. Layto.... |

my mates building a lexus v8 in a class 8 off road jimny, mounted in the rear with landcruiser78 diffs(flipped) and landcruiser78 transfer.totally insane. |

Remember back about ten years ago was in Newcastle with a mate in his 327 chev powered EH ute crusin and we got dragged into the RTA depot at carrington by the cops and there was a guy there with a LWB tray back NT that sounded very V8ish...253 I think and Red if I remember rightly... |

Are you going to do the work yourself? Are you going to extend the wheelbase? What are you going to use it for? |

The 1UZ is a VERY wide motor!! They struggle to fit these to hilux's and GQ's due to inner gaurd and chassis width restrictions. My advice would be to measure up your proposed drivetrain (width, height, length etc) not just in the engine bay, but the transmission tunnel too, and see if it MAY work on paper. Then If you have access to one, pop your motor out and try to sling the 1UZ in. My guess is that you will be disapointed, but if you are a good fabricator and don't mind ALOT of custom work, then it may still work. Have you ever taken on a project of this magnetude before??
