Okay so whenever i "fill up" my car (pump fuel in untill it wont take any more), the fuel gauge doesnt actually go to the top.. it sits like 2 cm down.. (lately its been sitting a little above half full) i thought it was just the gauge bieng dodgy but aparently its not.. it was below "empty" just before and i went to fill it up, it let me put like 11 litres in and then it wouldent take any more.. no matter how much i shook the car or whatever it wouldent take more then 11 litres.. the gauge went up to like just abit above empty..? what the...?

My gauge has never read right and I cant be bothered fixing it.
I just go by the odometer now and when it gets 300k's I fill it back up. Most of the time it takes 34 - 36 litres.
How many k's did you do on that 11 litres?

Your fuel level sender unit is farked. There is a thread with a fix for it here somewhere.
Otherwise you can reset your trip meter and fill up whenever you hit about 300kms, which is about 3/4 of a tank. Note, this depends on the average fuel consumption of 10L/100km.

Must be one of the Zook " Quirks ", my 89 Vit has a iffy fuel gauge too, it will show full, but drops to half tank real quick, had me worried when i first got it, thought i was in a gas guzzler, lol, i reset the trip meter every time i fill up now, and when it gets to under half tank on the gauge i fill up, usually takes about 25 litres...
They also say its a good idea to always keep the tank at least half full, which i like to do, helps to prevent rust in the tank, and its a good idea, for those just in case moments, like an emergency, you dont have to go hunting for an open Petrol Station, as you will have enough...

I was going to suggest the same thing. Doesn't sound like a gauge thing, sounds more like a breather.
