It's the rose joint/rod end/flexy thingo in the "A" frame that locates the top of the rear diff.

That would be wicked, I'm in no rush. Even if you could pull it out & measure it so I could chase down a replacement?

I thought they'd be a standard size, I'll have a look tomorrow if there is a number. From memory it was just a blank generic home brand heim joint.

Is there any play in it or are you just changing it for piece of mind?

if it pulls out, nothing major happens... i mean. the diff doesnt actually fall out, it just rotates backwards, and the shocks wrap around the axle  they can be straightened out, and still work reasonable ok

that pic was after i had straightened them out a bit  yeah, i had to re-use them i was 400 kms and 3 days from home so any shocks are better than no shocks  and in all honesty calmini shocks are crap to begin with, so there wasnt much difference in performance  its good to know the bottom eyelet wont snap off even if the heim does give way  anyway, i still had to blast thru the dunes at robe, and still managed to tow the busted 3wd hilux back to civilisation yess!!

so from stekky's needle in a haystack find, I have been able to confirm it is a 3/4" - 16 Right Hand thread rod end which can be found at almost any bearing shop, just don't buy the cheapest one you can find as they wont last.
