Ok fellas iv tried the search button but not a huge amount of luck. What im after is the wiring diagram for the suzuki baleno 1.6 efi engine from 2001 sorry i dont know any more details at this stage on the car model etc as im not at home. Anyway i picked up a complete 2001 baleno minus the front pasengers quarter panel for 600 bucks from the damaged vehicles auctions and have stripped it down and removed all the good bits (motor, wiring loom and computer) and am fitting it all to a sierra.

Now i need to sort out the wires i need and the ones i dont so i can tidy up the loom a bit hence the wiring diagram.

So any hints to a place i might source this info would be tops

cheers fellas. :D

Alright guys ive created a basic wiring diagram. This is what i used to do my conversion so it should work. If you need to know anything, just ask, also if you spot anything wrong, please tell me so i can fix it. I originally did the diagram on paper for my own purposes, but thats not gonna help you so i just heavily modified the original wiring diagram on computer.

Download the PDF here

pj your a legend you must have thought this guy doesnt want a stupid wiring diagram with all the useless shit on it tell ya its certainly going to make life much easier :D

oh if the wire is not on your diagram does that meen i can get rid of it all the common wires have been retained in this diagram as far as you can tell?

i think someone should get this stuff put in a sticky or start an area to keep all this good stuff that is hard to find.

You will have so many wires left over its not funny. If you havent stripped it out of the car yet, remove every wire you can find. Go so far as ripping the whole dash out and removing all the wires. I had to extend all teh wires to put the computer up under the dash of the sierra, so i just stripped the loom and used those wires, very handy.

yeah got the loom out of the car and the computer too. its incredible how many wires there are. and i had to take the whole front end of the baleno apart to do it. so if anyone in perth wants baleno parts im your man hahaha.

im not really looking forward to having to strip down this wiring loom and reinstalling it but its all fun and games.

Its not as bad as it looks.
If it helps you, what i did was install the engine, installed the ECU under the dash, drilled a hole through the firewall and fitted one of the large wiring grommets from the Baleno. Then i cut all three ECU plugs from the tangle of looms. To do this I followed each ECU plug wire down into the loom as far as it went until i came to another plug, join, whatever, and cut the wire off. If i came to another plug, i left 100+ mm pigtail on that plug so i could still join onto the wire incase i needed to use the plug later on.
Then I fitted each plug into the ECU, and started from plug A pin 1, noted what it ran to on the wiring diagram, and then connected up that wire to whatever it connects to. If the wire wasnt long enough, i searched through the remaining loom, found a wire of the same or similar markings and thickness, cut it out of the loom and used it to extend the ECU plug wire.
After i connect that ECU wire, i highlight it on the wiring diagram. Once all wires are highlighted, i knew i was done. I would love to say the engine fired first time, but i forgot to connect power to the ECU. Once i did that, it did fire first few cranks.
Also, if you are using the Baleno relay/fuse panel, i found it a lot easier to locate the fuses and relays i would need, and uninstall all the unused pins and theyre associated wires. This left me with a lot smaller loom coming from/to the relay/fuse panel. Also install the panel whtoo before running wires to/from it, otherwise you might find them a bit short when you do go to install the panel.
(hope that makes sense)

Thanks for the wiring diagram PJ! I've downloaded it and am trying to nut it out. I'm not quite sure if I got all the wiring out of the Baleno though...
The engine and wiring came from a '00 model.

Here's the part from the engine to ECU:

Then ECU to fuse box:

And fuse box to dash:

I don't think I have any relays though :? Are they in another box or something? I saw another "00 Baleno at the wreckers today, it had a blue box under the bonnet. Is that where the relays are?
