Sounds like the hubs are not locking in pull them apart clean then grease.........then put back on then go wheeling

i have a question may sound abit dumb but sometimes when i lock my front hubs and put it in 4wd it doesn't go in ( whats the porblem?) also is it possible that only one wheel lock and nor both? thanks |

thanks The 4wd stick doesn't go in? Could be the selector bush under the 4wd stick.. Or all 4 wheel's are not engaged? You may have a seized locking hub. ( only take's one & the front won't work) |

thanks Sometimes the transmission might be a bit tight. You might need to drive back or forwards a short distance for the gears to mesh properly. |

it probably seized like steknig said iv had the spring inside un clip all i needed to do was pull them apart and re set it |

To test the hubs, put hubs in free, jack up one side at a time so the wheel is in the air, turn that hub to lock and spin the wheel. You should hear a click as it engages/disengages. Also, if 4x4 is engaged that wheel should not spin at all. |

Or just hit hubs with a rock. Worked for me until i got around to stripping em and regreasing em. |

 i had to do this to my old sierra a few years ago........they locked in then they wouldnt unlock
