Hey guys -

Since I am going higher, I would like to also go wider. I dont like wheel spacers for a few reasons, so I got to thinking about Hilux diffs...

I am guessing someone must have swapped them in, any info?

yeah its pretty common swap around the place, though I dont know anyone thats done it niceley cause they all seem a bit rough in places

they arent that much wider than a WT diff really, but are a lot stronger

the main points that need sorting out is the steering, seeing you are springover youd need histeer from snake racing or something like that as well as a custom draglink

driveshafts from a WT can be made to fit a hilux flange pretty easy, but for strength you could mod the hilux shafts to fit the sierra transfer flanges

then it might pay to fit the hilux master cyl, but I dont know if many people do that

I never have any luck finding info by searching with google...

I hope to do all the other stuff first (2-3 inch lift, roll bars or cage, lining floor with some paint on stuff), but I am planning to do the diff swaps late in the year maybe, unless the 1.3 shits itself... Then I'll be going a Vit injection!

What did you do regarding steering? Did you put in any power steering setup?

Also, which ratios did you get? 4.8?
