Anyone know the numbers on these Standard Vitara rims? I know they are 16" x 6.5", 5 on 5.5, but what it the story with Offset and Backspace? Tried hunting for the info but cant find it. Looking at trying to run a wider tyre but also widening the track. At the moment I only get the tiniest bit of rub on the chassis rail with the wheels on full lock. So in theory the only way to go wider is outwards. I'm happy to add on additional flaring to my factory flares. Any tips what ball park offset and backspace I should be chasing in a rim to allow a slightly wider tyre? Remember, mine is not a 1.6 Vit, rather the wider 2.0. Thanks. |

I'm pretty sure the specs on the rim are +10. U can measure it but cant remember how. I had the same car and went for a -13 offset 16 inch which i run on my current v6 vit. if you have larger tyres you will need a little bit of addition flare as they do stick out a little past the guard. King wheels do the rims in the sunraysia style. will post up a pic shortly |

If they are the same as the v6 gv 3 spoke alloys, then they are +5. |

That is some crazy timing. It just so happens I ripped the rear wheel off mine last night to measure it. Mine are a different style rim to yours, but I assume the specs would be the same as mine is a SV420 also. While I'm sure its not 100% exact, I got 194mm from outer lip to outer lip on the rim. I also measured ~ 115mm from the back lip to the mounting face of the rim. Considering zero offset would be 97mm (half of 194mm), that gives the standard rims approx +18 offset to my calculations. Depending on the size of the tyre you want to run, I reckon a 0 offset rim would be pretty much spot on. Reason I was measuring mine.... is because I just snagged these for a bargain! They are 265/70/16 Desert Dueler A/T tyres. A smidge smaller then the extremely common 31x10.5 I see people run overseas so hopefully they will fit without to much of an issue.
Will need different rims though, as it will be pretty much rubbing on the shock body with the standard ones. |
