Post subject:  motor mounts in 1985 sierra

Is there much difference is the location of the motor mounts in the 1L and the 1.3L of the year model?? Will a 1.3 bolt straight in being that it was the year of change over is what i am trying to ask and has anyone done it ?

If yours is a Type 3 (with the all-grey plastic dash), then the chassis mounts are pre-drilled for F10A and G13A engine mounts. Have a look, there should be 3 holes on the mount pads of the chassis. Besides the actual rubber mount, you will also need the 1.3 chassis brackets.

You will also need a 1.3 gearbox as the bellhousing pattern is different between the 2 engines.

be careful here, i am putting in a swift gti engine, and nothing lines up from the old 1 litre. making all new chassis mounts. mine is a 85 cab on an 82 chassis F10a engine

Yeh i would say mine is a type 3 then its has the three holes drilled on the pad. Thanks for your help looks like a conversion is on the cards now lol
