Hello,

Just popped the bonnet and there is quite a bit of beach sand on the tops of most parts.

Is that a problem?

Should i vacuum it out or something?

Make sure everything is cooled down then just hose it off and try to keep water away from the dizzy :wink:

by the sounds of it your not washing your car out after the beach, that is a big no no.... get in there and wash the whole car, up underneath and in the chassis rails etc. if you dont do this you will be up for a new suzuki in a year or 2.... suzuki arent well known for their use of high grade steel.
as mentioned above be careful of the dizzy cap etc and any major electrics, just dont use high pressure around these items, if in doubt ask someone or cover it with a shopping bag and keep a can of WD40 in the car.

ssssshhhh guys . Yes use a vacume but be sure to take pictures and post them up. Hahaahahaha we all vacume our engine bays after wheelen them don't we....... Hahaaha

knowing ships you will know salt kills steel
sand carries salt into all the nooks and crannies and it stays there
if you go on the beach a lot. rust proof and wash a lot or your car wont last long an underbody wash at a car wash might be a good idea

road bikes, no sand

and no mechanic, just a cheapskate servicing it myself.

Not much to a bike. Lighter, smaller parts, easy to work on.

My 2 cents worth, Iput garden sprinkler under my suk and let it wash those places you cant reach therefore that is where there is likely to be a problem later on this is done whilst I use a normal garden hose to wash the rest down.

AWESOME!!!!!

With a sprinkler, you stick it under your car, walk away to partake of your favorite beverage & come back in 1/2hr to move it up the car a bit. :roll:
