one more does anyone know if it matters if you use different oils.
i only have 2.5 liters of some Castrol 20W-50 amd 2 liters of Home brand 15W-50.

cheers

Post subject:  Re: How much oil

personally I'd use something a LOT better but I suppose any oil is better than none.
if shit is that tight go to the supermarket and but a castrol, valvoline or any name brand 20/50w oil that they have on special not home brand.
I run a 5w 40 fuchs synthetic in my zook and all my cars but I get it free and zook loves it.
ps yes the two oils will mix

Why do people ask simple questions without saying what they are asking about???

A suzuki bike will take less then a sierra, but a suzuki earth mover will take more, the GV take more then a 1L ......

What zook????
What engine???
What year???

May help us give you better advise.

Post subject:  Re: How much oil

Wait... suzuki make earthmovers??

all suzuki car engines need at least 3L, but the simple answer is fill it up to the dipstick, un it for a few minutes the check distick. if it needs it refill

Post subject:  Re: How much oil

Any Engine can run on 3litres. But from memory a 1.3 Sierra engine Will be near full at 4.4/4.5litres.

Post subject:  Re: How much oil

sierra is actually 3.5 , you might be thininking about the radiator which is nigh on 5l

Author:  appsie [ Mon Jan 04, 2010 1:02 am ]
Post subject:  Re: How much oil

my suzuki owners manual that came with the vehicle says that the engine takes 3.5L which is all ive ever put in my previous zooks anyway.

Does this help or am i wrong....thats for a 1.3l

Author:  appsie [ Mon Jan 04, 2010 1:03 am ]
Post subject:  Re: How much oil

santos beat me haha yeh 3.5 for engine

8O 8O 8O 8O 8O

Swifts the same capacity... i got the FSM if you need me to double check :?

Can we have some pictures? either you got a custom high capacity sump or you have got way to much oil
(ie you can fit 5l in a standard 1.3l, it will chew throught it AND the stuff it doesnt will rob you of power )

Post subject:  Re: How much oil

filled it out of a new full fuchs bottle 4.5 lt

I use the Castrol website for their lube guide. Bottom left corner of the front page under "Toolkit" - 'Workshop Lube Guide'.

Post subject:  Re: How much oil

ok fellars
just out of interest I drained my sump of the new oil all 4.5 liters and refilled back with 3.5litres as the book says.
either I have a larger sump or the wrong dipstick as 3.5 only just shows under the low mark onthe stick.
anyway Ill give it a run like this and see I guess.
