Hey Guys, just started up my rebuilt engine in the zook for the first time runs very nicely. But after getting it running well, i went to take it for a drive and when i started it i got a high pitched squeal coming from somewhere. Thought it might have been the timing belt rubbing but thats fine. I also put a new clutch and gearbox bearings in while the engine was out, i did a quick search and sounds like it could be the new clutch, however it whines when you engage or disengage the clutch so i'm not sure, what it is. Any Ideas
Thanks Clem

just a thought but check that the cam tunnels are square to the head , it is not unusual for cams to squeal in the carrier if the head is not straight

Thanks for the replies think i've found it, i think the seal has gone on one of the linkages for the butterlfy valve, as the squeal doesn't change with the revs and if you play round with the rods it changes the squeal.
mightymouse the cam tunnels cant really change as the head is all one piece so they cant be moved, i think thats what you mean anyway.
