I talked to athol mullen about this when making mine, they need to be pinned on road and have the pin distance exactly the same as standard shackles. If they fit between these catagories then there is no problem...

This doen't make them legal. It makes them engineerable.... IF you can find someone to sign off on the mod.

Wouldn't that mean there safe to be on the road and therefore legal. If not why waste the money on engineering save it and do more mods. Whole system is pointless.

Welcome to the world of modified cars. A police officer can defect you regardless of what your engineers certificate says, and the RTA can say that they think your car is not roadworthy regardless of engineer certificate. Makes you wonder why you bother doesn't it. Best one is the current trend of police issuing EPA emissions defects. If they pull over a car that they feel doesnt meet emissions standards, they issue with the defect and fine. You then have to book in and clear the car. BUT you still have a fine to pay, regardless of if you pass or fail the tests (which are almost impossible to get right. A standard late model WRX (2004) failed.) The police need to nothing more than look at your car to determine that you "May not meed the applicable emission standard" then they can issue with the fine and defect. Having had to change a few cars round recently to clear this defect, it is rediculous.

Anyway rant over

How did you pass emissions. I'm assuming they are performance cars pm if you want

Yeah im talking performace road cars. I will send you a pm a bit later when i can type out some more detail, but basically it is return the car to stock/compliance spec. I have all the .pdf documents from the police/RTA/EPAlisting the testing and requirements somewhere if you need them.
