As stated, I have carby G16 a out of an old swift but it has the dizzy so it would go though the fire wall. I want to put a G13b head on I have here and give it new rings bearings, VRS and timing kit. Do they bolt up. I would prefer the G16b head as its 16v but I need a right angle drive dizzy as I refuse to detroy the fire wall |

you can put a 8v head on a 16v block but not the other way around. so yes that work. I currently have a 1.6 16v block with the 1.3 8v head. if you look in the DIY section you will find a cheap wat to make the dizzy work. But from what I know the carby 1.6 you dont have to modify the dizzy. I may be wrong on that though |

Potentially another option worth investigating is a head off a late model baleno (sometime around the 2000 model) that has coilpacks and electronic timing (combination of a magnetic pickup where the dizzy goes and ECU). Not sure how expensive this might be or whether it is even possible. |

The FWD Swift/Baleno had the dizzy pointing straight out the back of the head, if you're using this head it needs a right angle adaptor to turn the dizzy. They are available but from where and how much... someone else will know. |

so u want to put a GTI head on a 1600 block?? i am not 100% but i think u will need to smack some butterfly pistons in it 2.. easy if your going to pull it down anyways |

So you wanna put a 16v head on an 8v block? Then you're gonna need new pistons for a start... |

If your looking to put a GTI head on a 1600 16v block it will work but they are VERY tempromentle I did a lot of reading about it and hunted down 2 different cars that have them. Both were swifts and both owners said they were great and had tons of power. But both told me they wouldn't do it again. From what they said the timing is a BIG issue. one of the guys runs his inlet cam one tooth advanced just to get it to idle. The other person spent BIG bucks on a aftermarket ECU. If you are going to do it talk to Jimbo Jones on here he has a mate on GTIredlimit that will help you out with parts and the best way to do it. |

G16A block with a gti head leaves you with a very low static compression. In the range of 8:1 off the top of my head. Not suited to a naturally aspirated setup, with very little torque produced. Search on outerlimits for the hybrid setup, you'll find plenty of ppl asking about it, but noone thats had the conversion speaking kindly of it. |

I would say he means a G13BA head, most people will say GTI when they mean that head as they are unaware what prefix is for what |

No I just want to stick a standard old G13b head from a sierra on a carby g16 swift motor? Will no longer require the 16v head and will probly sell it |
