Have a manual 95 sierra, need to replace the reverse light switch in gearbox, last resort, however their are two switches into the gearbox, Which one is for the reverse light, the one closet to the engine or furtherest?

NT has 3 switches...
WT has 4 switches...
If your coily only has 2 then I'll need a pic to tell you which is which.

On my wide track its the one with the bigger pins in the plug.
Try unplugging one and see if you reverse lights still work. If ya cant do that because the switch is already stuffed try unpluging the one you think it is and bridge out the 2 pins on the loom side (this should make your reverse lights come on) you may need to have the key on for this.
Thats what id do anyway.

If you think about what the gear lever does, it will be easy to work out which is the reverse switch. To select rev, you move the gear knob to the right and back, so inside the gearbox the left side shift rail gets pushed forward.

er... dumb question but what exactly do the 4th and 5th gear switches do, i recently swaped my 1ltr for 1.6 and 5 spd and just left em hanging.

Part of the pollution control setup on carby 1.3's..
EFI superceeds all of that so you did the right thing by not hooking them up to anything.
