im having major rear brake hassle with my grand vitara (1.6)
most of the components are rusted pretty bad from a previous owners (ok and maby a bit from me) lack of cleaning, parts keep breaking and to replace them through genuine will cost a arm and a leg. i cant find any wrecked GV so no luck scavenging bits.

i was thinking maby doing a rear disk conversion

its either that or try and fit a later model vitara hub plate and internals (brake shoes and that) while using the grand vitaras drum and axel.
dose anyone know if this would work. as finding parts for the erlyer vitaras is alot easier.

Exclusive Jap http://www.exjap.com.au/ in Adelaide should be able to sort you out with all the replacement drum bits you need.

The GV didn't come with disks on the rear that I know of, so a conversion is going to be a fair bit of stuffing around.

if i was going to go down this route i would need to get it engineered i talked to a mate down at the MVR, thanks tho
