Im planning on dropping a vitara 1.6 efi into a mates 98 1.3 sierra. is there much involved apart from the wiring? Will a 1.6 efi vitara engine and box bolt straight into a sierra or is it easier to bolt up a 1.6 to a 1.3 box. Any help appreciated

It isnt a straight bolt in job. There is plenty of info around if you search. The vitara box will go in but its alot of work, and the gearing isnt right in high range, stick with the 1.3 box and transfer.

For an easier fit out you should use the sierra box with a new heavy duty sierra clutch and machined flywheel, and use an adaptor kit to mount the box to the motor.

You will not get the Vitara gearbox into the sierra tunnel without chopping the $hit out of it, or fitting 3-4" of body lift.

The wiring is relately easy if you have the wiring diagrams and know how to use them.
