Hey folks,
Just wondering what needs to be done to make it fit...any expected issues etc.
I'm fitting a Mk3 1.3L EFI Gti swift motor to my WT Swb.
All information and constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks Guys,
Andi

Electrics is prob the most complicated part. Make sure the lifters arent rooted when buying the engine if you havent already, the little bastards are worth a fortune.

not sure what you already know, too much stuff to list here, Ive just finished mine, you will love the power!
You'll need efi fuel pump, modified dizzy cap, sierra extractors with gti flange, thermofan or sierra waterpump and fan, sierra sump and oil pickup, coolant hoses to suit etc etc etc... Its worth it!

Personally I'd be going the 1.6, but if you are set on the GTI there is plenty of information here to be found... Whatever you choose, good luck!

with the dizzy problem, you can buy a kit that
puts the dizzy at right angles to motor just like the
standard 1.3 dizzy.

So i've got my engine....$400 bucks for a mid 100,000km engine, loom, afm, fuel tank and pump and a spare set of seats...
which i think is pretty reasonable.
i've sized up the engine for the conversion, cooling and wiring look to be the only 'tricky' thing....but it's not a hurdle i havent already had...
so it all looks to be pretty straight forward once i get my right angle dizzy from a 323 and the thermostat housing from an 85 barina...
Thanks guys for ur help...ill be posting a build up as i go along...
