Ok, I have a g16a block with 1.3 head and carby.... I'm sick of my carb giving me shit sooo my thought was to put a 1.6 efi head on and do the necesary mods to go down that road??? Is this possible ?
Cheers brad

You can fit import Vitara TBI to an 8 valve G16 head(bolt on) or I believe there were a few Swifts with TBI on 8 valves too.

If I were you I'd sell all the bits you have and buy a G16B MPFI.

Cheers want33, only downside to that is the price difference of the cost of the new motor, rebuild etc to th total of all my bits. I would still be looking at 500????ish?

Below is a photo of the g16a from my sierra with a 16 valve mpfi head on it. Keep in mind if you're doing this conversion you'll need a fuel tank that can support an in tank pump (ie coily tank) or alternatively you'll need to add a surge tank. Either way you'll need a fuel injection pump as well. Considering the amount of work - and if you're on a tight budget, for the performance increase you get, I still wouldn't discount getting a better carby and exhaust.

Bigrig have you driven a weber powered rig before?? What sort of stuff do you drive? Yes continual 'just about to roll your car' offroad it will be no good for but I found for the extra performance and the absolute simplicity of the carb it was worth it. Yes it did have a stall here and there although the angles wern't what you would call nothing. With the low range gears I had no problems doing the tracks at ormeau and such. In the 3 years I had it on the car I never had to touch the thing.

hey jr, i have never driven a weber powered suzi or 4by for that matter, but a worked cortina and escort i have. so i guess i can only make assumptions about the 4x4 capabilities of them. Can i ask what size you used, i have heard of the one on ebay that is supposedly modded for wheeling.
