Replacing the clutch and need to know which way it goes in. I had the clutch plate and pressure plate sitting together so I wouldn't forget but someone moved them. Help! |

The shorter side of the clutch plate usually faces the flywheel. If that makes sense thow up some pic of it |

It will only go one way. The screws for the pressure plate wont all reach if its backwards. |

Easiest way to tell is see which way sits nice on the flywheel. If its the wrong way around, the friction surface will stick up from the flywheel due to the clutch plate hitting the flywheel bolts. |

Also for future reference some clutch plates have it written onto it. Most usually say "flywheel" |

That's what i thought, but it seemed to fit both ways. It's in now, and everything bolted up ready to go. Just gotta fill the radiator and kick her in the guts. Thanks for your help guys. |
