| Post subject: | NT towbar to WT?? |
Hey guys, I've done a search but haven't really found any answers. I have a WT zook and I'm chasing a towbar for it. A bloke in the same state has a NT towbar that he is willing to sell, he has given me the measurements of 1050mm wide, outer holes roughly 1000mm and inner holes 865mm. If anyone could please let me know if they have put a NT bar onto a WT before, that would be appreciated. I do remember reading somewhere that there may be an issue with where the leafs connect to the chassis (I'm a noob and don't know what thats called) thanks Adam |

im almost positive it will fit as the chasis is the same. Just remember to put some spreader plates in otherwise you could stuff the chasis if you go to snatch from the hitch. Is it a flat tongue or a square reciever type? |

wow that is a chunky towbar. Generally speaking WT and NT towbars should be identical (as i own one of each). at the end of the WT chassis is extra RHS welded on the outside, be sure that the towbar mounts to the chassis rail that goes the entire length of the car, not the part that is welded on as this is not available on the NT models. Id imagine spreader plates would just assist in spreading the load of the towbar on the chassis rail so as not to crimp or bend it if excess force is used, a piece of plate the same width as the chassis rail and a few inches long should do the trick. |
