I'm about to get my A/C compressor serviced (possibly replaced). This is my 2nd one in 2 yrs with the first one dieing due to mud The current one now has a ticking sound coming from the compressor when turned on. It still blows cold air though. If it needs replacing do I have to replace it with a Suzuki or it's aftermarket equivalent? Are all A/C compressors the same, ie can I buy one that fits a Ford/Holden and will it fit? Would the mounting tabs be the same? |

So I'm guessing the compressor was around the $350 - $450 mark? |

the ticking noise i would assume would be internal.. probably a valve. not all compressors are the same. the bodies are different, pressures that they pump out. if you can get some numbers off the unit i my be able to see what i can get aftermarket for them.. i have a few contacts that deal with A/c stuff. the ones i can get 90% of the time are the genuine item... ie sanden or whatever brand they come with others are ftermarket versions. also let me know year, model, engine of vehicle. how did mud wreck your first one?? hey royce. what did you get A/C wise?? |

Well I'm having new problems with the A/C now. When I run it for about 5 min there's the ticking sound but then it seems to nearly stall the engine. The entire car shakes for a second or two as well. I think maybe the clutch or bearing maybe the issue. |
