Gday everyone. Im thinking of modifiying my dash in the 93 sierra. I need to hide an amp and i need a few good places for my 2 radios and all the switches. All im really wanting to know is what has been done and what people are thinking of doing. I have a fealing that the amp will fit up behind the glove box. has ne one put one up there. I can feal a space when i reach around the exsisting amp box. Does ne one have a rough guestament on how much space is up there or is it a hard job taking that part out to get to it. I have few ideas involving a lot of chekerplate. which i think will look hot, and plus i have a hole lot of the stuff. ne pics of the mods will be good to. Thanks

funny that cus last nite at about 1030 i was thinking the same thing..thinking of mounting my amp in the exact position, mainly up there (behind glove box) to be away from eyes and water!!! but yes i recon it will fit there and i also mounted my AM radio beside the steering coloum, do people still use AM?? i dont have switches yet

youd think up there would be safe hey

its not till you mount an amp up there you relise how much water dribble through there :( but yeah theres enough room to fit fit 2 decent size amps vertical side by side once you remove the metal bracket off the back of the glove box

another popular option is to mount it on the tray under the glovebox some sierras have

cheers royce. That tray under the glove box was removed ages ago. When i put some new speakers in. im worried about the dribble factor. My zook leaks like you wouldnt believe. it does come from round there to. I think i might need to have a look under there and try to work out were the leak is coming from ne suggestions? I have my am radio near my steering column and my uhf under the centre console under the stereo. But im not happy with it there. So im thinking of making a checkerplate housing for it under the glove box and one under the steering column for the am. I can put some of my switches there to.

the 2 ususal leak spots are the heater air intake drain tubes (2 tubes into the engine bay) blockup so the water elaks out the air vents

there is also 2 tubes in the windscreen surround that divert water that gets in there onto the floor via your feet, dunno how to fix that one
