![]() i thought someone said it needs to be bent also to make it go right? cos ive done one that ive just extended and it doesnt really go well, i have just a bloody great hole in the floor cos i cant use the center console. i just cant bend the extended ones cos well i used old head bolts welded in to extend |

the transfer lever needs to be extended & i bent my gear stick like a layback seat pole from a 1980's BMX with out extending it... sort of like this, but not as horizontal if that makes sence? _ / I |

sort of like this, but not as horizontal if that makes sence? _ / I righto, so with it laid back without an extension, just need to use a different boot? one softer? |

Just a word of caution about bending and extending gear levers. The detent springs in the gearbox are related to the length of the gearlever, so extended levers often have a loose and indisticnt feel. Extending the lever also allows more force to be put into the box and can result in issues- bent forks etc. As for bending the levers - they have a rubber vibration isolator bonded into the base. Bending the lever back can result in a "springy" lever that also feels loose, and will deteriorate over time as the rubber fatigues. Just something to be aware of. I've extended a few transfer levers without a problem but gearlevers are a bit fraught due to the issues above. Steve. |
