Whats the deal with adjusting the cluch? Mine engages really high. can this be changed at all?

it can as long as the clutch is ok

get underneath and you will see the clutch arm and cable, turn the nut on the end of the cable until you have a little bit of play on the arm, that should be about right

if you want it lower you want more freeplay, higher less free play, but make sure there is some play or you will burn the throwout bearing

Ok had a play with the clutch today and got it to engage in a good spot. Just seem not to clamp very hard. Are the stock sierra clutches like this? Is there any way to fix it?
Or do i have to get a heavy duty cluch for it?

they should be pretty good but may seem spongy to you cause of the extra pedal travel

dont worry once you get off road youll know if its ok or not

i think its just cause im used to driving my skyline around and clutch is so heavy it in. I get the same effect if i have been driving my gf excel then jump back in the skyline.

Have been getting prices on clutchs and for an exedy heavy duty they are around the $260 mark! For the not heavy duty its the $160 mark!


Have a guy off outers i go wheelin with getting me a price on a heavy duty clutch because he works at a place that can get them!

Will let you know what he ends up at!

i fried my clutch on sunday so i got mine out today to be replaced tomorrow. is it better to get a h/d clutch 4 4wd or is a std replacement one ok??

I have just asked the same question on outer limits and people have said if just on standard tyres a stock one will be alright or if you have gearing.

But i don't have gearing yet so i will go the heavy duty only $100 more and peice of mind!

The gears are coming soon though!
