Hi guys,

Just writing to see if anyone knows how to adjust the Front wheel bearings on my coilly sierra. I have pulled off the retainer and removed the screws, there are four holes that look like a special tool is needed. Had tried to move with a hole punch but is not moving. Any ideas?

PS- anyone have the tool? know where to go on the GC? need to do it asap. will pay in beers!

pretty sure coilies are like Vitara's in that the bearing is a single sealed unit, no adjustment possible and the nut is just a big lock nut

Yeah there is a special tool Ive seen to remove the big round nut with the holes in it. Dont ask me where to get one! I need one to remove my front bearings too.. Like to put in some new ones..

Thanks for that. would be great but need it now! haha. For my RWC, am just about to have a go at it myself. Got new wheel bearings! so wish me luck. haha.

get a peice of steel ( 25x5 by 350 long) and some high tensile bolts that fit into the holes.

make sure the bolts have thread the whole length of them

Measure the distance from one hole to the other. Drill two holes that distance apart in a piece of steel. Then insert bolt into steel, do up the nut until the bolt is tight in the steel and will not move and then there you have it. A long pin spanner.

Like this but lots longer for leverage and the bols are longer so they fit over the hub



Or even easier get a piece of pipe that slides over the hub and weld two or four bolts onto it so it looks like the thing in the pic. Then just weld an old socket to the top and there you go.

A bit of simple engineering and you can make any tool you need.

I made a diff adjusting spanner (when I say me I mean I got somebody else to make it for me when they were bored at work), might make it fit the wheel bearing too

if you can give me ACCURATE measurements yes I can.

if I were to bother to drive to woop woop to make said accurate measurments I may as well drill it myself, wheres the good option in that plan?
