hittimg it with workshop air pressure you may have popped something. Its not bad but it is a leak. |

its only 100 - 110 psi, so i wouldn't have thought it to be any different from the on board air compressor? |

Might be a stupid question but what pressure does it normally run at? 50kpa is 7.2psi. When your locker is engaged does the compressor onboard keep running? I don't know a lot about lockers but a little about pneumatics and only assume the compressor cuts out once the pressure is up to the locker and engaged? |

pressure switch comes on at 80 psi and turnes off at 110 psi, so as long as the tank doesnt drop below 80 psi, the compressor doesnt need to run |

I helped a mate put in a set of air lockers last weekend and those seals on the diffs are tiny and those little hard plastic hoses wouldnt hold 100psi. 100psi sounds HUGE I was thinking more around 20psi. Talk to Blow Joe he works for ARB he would know the exacts on everything you need to know. JOEBLOW....... |

JOEBLOW....... wrong. they operate at between 80-110, as per the pressure relieve switch on the compressor... the comp guys are know to run even more thru them for a more snappier operation. polar bear, it's clearly from lack of use

Really wow those hoses and seals are well dont look like they would hold 100psi. I have never really read up on them. With that much pressure wouldn't you want more then those little piss weak hoses. |

but those piss weak blue hoses are used by millions of people around the world with air lockers... |

Hmm well I have know them as air leakers soo..... I just would have never of guessed them to run at that high of pressure. Well theres one for the memmory bank |

good when they are set up right...me and a mate set up my front airlocker to the T by the book and it was still leaking....we replaced the square edged seal housing o-rings with round viton o-rings and the problem of air leaking disappeared.. |

As above, replace your o rings with Viton ones. Make sure you get viton ones (usually brown, not always though, some are black with a grey haze over them). Viton are also more chemical and heat resistant and are a harder durometre than nitrile so they withstand higher pressure weaves |

the install book lists whats acceptable leakage, unless you also had a big airtank included in the line you were testing the pressure off I wouldnt call that a leak at all, most airlockers seems to start the compressor every 15mins or so when left on |

mine leak a little every now and then , usually after its sat for a while.(ie comp kicks in every 45 secs to a minute) its always the front. It seems to stop after a bit of a drive in 4wd maybe 2 - 5 minutes. I wonder if its a corrosion thing where the seal runs or maybe they just like a bit of oil spashed around? anyway they still work ok and I couldn't be bothered opening it all up. maybe take it for a run and see. |

no air tank in the line, it was just the blue nylon line from the engine bay, straight to the rear diff., so really 50kpa loss over the volume of air involved over 1 hour is probably 2/10th of fark all. |

110 psi in the blue line?....you would be surprised at how much psi that line can take. i agree, its prob time that has caused a slight leak, and if its that little than i would not worry about it. air leaks depend on a whole range of issues, they not only can stem from the diff but all the other fittings you may have on you're air delivery system. setup is critical, the smallest amount of dirt, particularly at the o-ring side will cause it to leak a little. all the the problems i have see have been a poor fitting/ rush job situation. ask all the people i have set diffs up for and it won't be leaking from the diff end. many times the leak is actually caused by people not setting up pre-load correctly on the side bearings, and as the diff loads up it flexes putting pressure on the o-rings. how many people here have a test rig to check pressur before instalation? a simple test rig will show mistakes before the diff is installed. |

your standard 2 litre coke bottle can easily take 100psi without blowing the lid off.. they make wicked air rockets with 1/3 water so i'm sure the little blue lines arent piss weak |
