Just wondered what kind of box it was (other than the fact it's apparently a celica 5 speed) so I could do some research.
I've got a wanted thread in the wanted section for specifically gear for this conversion.
I didn't expect anything to come up this quick hence the need for more info
EDIT: Also, rough km on the engine? Is it smallport or bigport or what? I'm having trouble getting a definition on a bluetop motor. I.E. Power output, reliability e.t.c
I know I'm being a pain in the arse, just don't want to rush into parts and get the wrong motor for my zook. Also, why ya getting rid of it? Upgrade or something?
EDIT2: Hang on, re-reading your top post, what exactly do you mean by wiring done? Is the engine still in a vehicle?

Hah I didn't realise it was still in a vehicle. Let me know all the details anyway, might still be viable.
Thanks again

Thanks for that, turns out I'd been to that page a few weeks ago, though I'd only read the first one not the whole thing.
Good to say they are pretty much all good. Definitely need more info on this though. Bloody bilzilla's page has got me wanting to put a ze in, pity they cost so much more

I had a look at it today. They've made a new mount for the transfer that bolts in the original holes. Have all the tail shafts and jack shaft. Gearbox crossmember and everything except exhaust and air intake and airbox

Hmm, that takes a lot of the stuffing around out of the conversion doesn't it.
Any idea what condition the engine is in age/km wise? also you say the fuel system has been removed? Let us know when you know more about it all

yeah the guy was turning it into a comp truck said everything was fine before he pulled it apart. oil is clean. no idea of kms or anything. its a bluetop bigport tvis model. but im have no idea about these motors so dunno what model cars they came out in. for a fuel system it had a vl inline pump and a surge tank and crappy pickup pump.

Bluetops seem to be early 4age motors. I'll do some more research and let you know. I am allowed to get the gear to do an upgrade on mine, however I have been TOLD by the mrs, it's not allowed to turn out like the boat.
(me and my old man bought a boat after getting all the checks e.t.c we could and got extra warranty from the boatyard we bought it from, long story short, it blew up after 10 minutes, cost us to rebuild, then it blew up again, then the blokes that rebuilt it did it, now it's blown up again and we took it off to sell for parts)

yeah i understand what your saying. the bloke i got it off was pretty genuine. i trust him in what hes told me about what the motor was like. he said hes gunna look for the fuel system and post it up to me. so hopefully ill have that for the conversion aswell.

Yeh no worries at all. I just realised that there's a half cut supplier here on the bloody gold coast where I could just rock up and check it all out before parting with the cash. That said I've heard good and bad about them but will work it out.
I'll let you know how I go, would you consider parting it out i.e. gearbox/transfer only?
EDIT: Probably not though because that'd make it harder for you to get rid of yeh?

yeah ill be stuck with the engine lol will only sell it as a complete setup. transfer isnt included as it has 6.1:1 gears in it and im putting it in my ute. lol. reason i bought the car in the first place. but it will include the mounts so u can just use your own case with the modified mounts

Gearbox would be a t50 most likely.
I think I know that zook. Was it blue with green bits? Big black plastic scoop thingy on the bonnet?
