No need for this anymore.

Condition: Used
Price: $100 or will be going on ebay
Location: Altona North, VIC
Other info: comes with all bolts and brakets. Has a nice chrome finish but if you look real close its starting to show some blemishes...will come up like new with a bit of a polish. Has spot light mounting points.

It's steel. Seems thin though - not sure about the wall thickness but it's a bit lighter than than it looks. Will measure the thickness of the spot light mounts when i get home.

Also i've never shipped anything interstate before - any ideas/suggestions on who's best to use? Whats your post code?

Checked the bar again - the mounting brackets for the spot lights are 2mm thick. I'm guessing the rest of the bar is less than that - probably 1mm.
In all honesty i wouldn't trust it if you hit anything bigger than a cat at speed....but it does look good though. I originally bought it coz it looked good and i needed something to mount the UHF ariel on.

Also the bar weighs about 7kg, and the brackets about 3kg.
Got a quote to send to your postcode from transdirect for $253.
Tried some others but their online quote thingys are pretty complicated...DHL wanted about $1200!!!! 8O Maybe i didn't use it right i dunno :D

Also try this site, they compare a who bunch of couriers at the same time. My postcode is 3025

Edit: Forgot to add it'll fit in a box 160cm x 80cm x31cm

The spot light mountings dont need to be to thick, but the actual bar would need to be at least 3mm, does is sound tinny if you tap on the bar with something metal, or is there more of a thunk noise ?
Can you see the thickness of the tube at where it mounts onto the chassis ?

Those online calculators for quotes are not very accurate, i know when i tried to send something once, they go on size more than weight, and when you put in size, it thinks its a volume measurement, and thinks you are sending something box shaped, best to ring for things like bull bars...
$253 for 10kgs is expensive, and $1200 is just crazy... i have bought 3 computers off ebay, in one box, 120kgs for $60 shipped to perth...

Damn... If you are trying to put me off getting this bar, its working, lol... :?

Not trying to put you off mate....just wanna be honest

And i can tell you it is definately not 3mm thick tube....1.5-2mm at best.
And yes it has a very tinny sound if you tap it.

Like i said its more for looks, and maybe hitting a cat  but thats about it

Well thankyou for your honesty !

Ahhh ok... Bugger
Yeah i want something more substantial than that then... oh well i will keep looking...
FYI, if you list this on ebay, people will want to know about shipping courier as well... unless you snag a local buyer... :D
