hey for sale is my old carby off my 1993 Sierra. i took it off after having some idle problems, and ended up getting a recondiotioned one, so i never bothered to get the old one reconditioned.
All parts are there, not missing anything. Just a bolt on job after its reconditioned.
any enquiries text josh on 0448292761. cheers!

You're dreaming.

Just as an example I sold a couple of well running carbys for $120 including postage, and I bought a couple of very average carbys for $25ea.

Definitely dreaming!

I can't remember what it was exactly but on my original carb, it had issues that couldn't be fixed with gaskets and o-rings which basically rendered it a paper weight. I mean your idle issues could very well just be a blocked idle valve but I would assume you would have taken the 5 mins it takes to clean it before buying a reco.

I'm not trying to scare off any potential buyers but when you don't know any more than that it has issues, it's a bit of a tall order to fetch that sort of money.

May I suggest cleaning it up a bit and using it as a paper weight?

Well that's a loaded question... did you buy it from an auszooker?

At the end of the day, a part is worth whatever you're prepared to pay for it. Saying that, I bought a second hand carby of AZ for $50, $60 odd for the rebuild kit and an hour of my time to achieve what you have for $260.

So if you were unsure if you could do the strip down and rebuild yourself, the $150 extra it cost you was probably good value for peace of mind. There are plenty of people on here that have paid $450 for a reco carb so don't lose too much sleep!

well he was an auszooker, but i didnt know that untill after the purchase haha. We organised it through gumtree and then found out later that we were both on here :p

alright well atleast thats a positive thing! and ive gotta say, a reconed carby makes the world of difference to general running of the engine and stuff. unbelievably smooth, sometimes it feels like the motors not even running :p

$260 is a pretty good price as long as it was done properly, if you saw a receipt and knew it was definatly done within 6 months then you're laughing.

Average price for a carby overhaul by a pro is $350 - $550ish off the car.

You could also hang onto yours as a spare or for spares. Parts like linkages, diagphrams etc etc are impossible to get new.
