Hey mate.

What will he take for the fuel tank?

To be honest he will be flat out getting $800 for that roller. The diffs are worth next to nothing and hard to sell, the arms will sell if they are straight, the engine would fetch $200-300 inc head etc, gearbox $150-250 depending on condition, the chassis is worthless, so is the transfercase and suspension.

Was this rolled? or did he buy it for the tub?

Hey mate

I believe that the cab had been taken off it for a cut job at some point.

Dont believe he'd be selling the tank separately but if anything changes, you'll be first on the list.

He is looking at getting one of JML's sierra bar's or an ARB one so a good bar could be considered in the price

the rear diff will sell, as they bend and have week axels...

well i spoke with him, he said it owes him about $1500, all bearings, gear box and axle are all good. Bottom he'll take atm is $1000 otherwise he's better off getting a new cab for it.

Would be good to put a moke body on ;)

As the ad says, motor is in good condition but has a score in the bore. currently has no piston heads or bearings/rings etc

edit - sorry haven't got a price yet as wasn't previously parting, i'll find out and put it up asap

also i believe it has a webber on it and with the exception to bearings/rings and piston heads, is complete e.g. fuel pump, alternator...

well basically what i mean is that its complete and was running well. head, cam, dizzy, alternator, starter etc are all good.

the mark in the bore may not be that bad, im not a professional engine builder but i'd suggest the block is munted. judging by the design im guessing you cant bore it our or sleave it, more likely its easier to get another block but yeah.

can be bought as a whole or might be separated

Post subject:  Re: Coily parts BRISBANE UPDATED

is that like offering something_else 2 grand for his LJ81 ute?

everyone is entitled to their opinions and make stupid low ball offers.

Fatzook said the chassis was worthless, yet it was the first thing to sell. Thats not a go a Fatzook, its just that in his opinon and to him the chassis was useless but thankfully we live in a world where everyone isn't the same, have the same needs or share the same opinons.

If the entire front diff assembly is still for sale in 6 months, you can have it for $300 :)

Post subject:  Re: Coily parts BRISBANE UPDATED

parts are worth what people will pay.

a good pair of WT sierra diffs are worth, $400. and are in alot more demand than coily diffs,

a good pair of LJ diffs are worth $200 a pair and are alot more demanded than coily diffs,

how the hell are coily diffs in any ones opinion worth $600 a pair??

Depends how bad you need one  They are a weak unit and break mounts etc all day long.

What options would you suggest for coily owners then  Add an equally weak jimny diff. Or fabricate a leafy diff (not an easy job!!)

Post subject:  Re: Coily parts BRISBANE UPDATED

speaking of which, i just sold a front and a rear jimny diff centre which had surface rust on them for $100 the pair to a Gearbox place i send a lot of work to. he reckons cleaned up he will sell them for in excess of $500 for both. you can argue that they are worth nothing all you like but i think i'd take his opinion.

gave me cash on the spot and was happy as a pig in shit. and you want to offer $50 for a full front diff with new hub seals, rotors etc?

Author:  tanshi [ Wed Dec 21, 2011 5:17 am ]
Post subject:  Re: Coily parts BRISBANE UPDATED

From a company you expect to have to pay rediculous amounts, cos the come with some sort of warranty.

second had off the net with unknown condition is a long way from paying what a gearbox shop charges.

Author:  Fmoss3 [ Wed Dec 21, 2011 5:20 am ]
Post subject:  Re: Coily parts BRISBANE UPDATED

thats right, and he took $50 cash for a jimny front diff with surface rust on the gears.

im offering a complete front diff in good working condition with everything on it.

edit - good working calipers and near new rotors would nearly be worth $50
