For sale: one right-angle adapter kit for fitting the Sierra distributor to the GTI motor (for GTI conversion in Sierra).
This will best suit someone who has a Mk I GTI going in to a Sierra. It allows you to run the Sierra distributor on the GTI engine without the firewall clearance issues.
I bought it several years ago but it turned out that my engine is a Mk II engine, which would require further mods to the distributor to provide the crank angle sensor for the ECM, or an after-market computer. In the end that was more than I could manage so I resorted to the Mazda cap and rotor button on the GTI distributor.
This has been trial-fitted and removed but has never been on a running engine (so is effectively brand-new unused).
I'll include the distributor housing and the camshaft drive cog which you normally have to provide off the old motor. You will need the drive dog from the bottom of the GTI distributor and the two bolts that hold the distributor to the GTI head.
Retail on this was $400 - not sure if they are still available.
