It's time for me to sell my 89 SWB SJ50 soft top!

  • Body is reasonable for a 25yo Sierra. Dings in bonnet, driver’s rocker, driver’s rear quarter, passenger door, few of the flares. Some minor rust. Soft top has a couple of split seams. Stock front & rear bumpers
  • Suspension. Overall it has 1-2” of spring lift. Rear has custom leaf packs, bolt on rear upper shock bar with longer travel shocks. Front has a custom pack based on a rear main leaf, custom shock towers, longer travel shocks. Front sway bar fitted, no body lift.
  • G16 16v engine, blue plated
  • Stock radiator
  • Custom engine mounts
  • Stock 5 speed, comes with brand new clutch, throwout, spigot & machined flywheel
  • 6:1 transfer gears, custom transfer cradle with reinforced arms
  • Twin Stick transfer shifter
  • Rear disk brake conversion. Uses Skyline calipers and stock Sierra front rotors and heavy duty wheel bearings. Blue plated.
  • Front brakes are Vitara vented rotors and calipers
  • Wheels are 5 x five spoke GV 16x7 alloy wheels (best looking factory wheels IMO :) )
  • Tyres are 4 x Federal Couragia MT in 235/85R16
  • 4 point roll bar
  • ARB compressor + front & rear ARB air lockers (gen. ARB). Diffs centres need to be rebuilt with new gears (supplied). Also included is a rebuild kit for ONE diff. Rear centre is currently removed.
  • H4 headlights, Philips bulbs, run through relays. LED park, indicator & stop/tails.
  • Mazda MX6 seats on stock Sierra runners. Blue plated. Still complianced as a 4 seater, comes with rear seats but no belts.

This thread shows some history of the vehicle. Please note that some of the pics, especially those earlier in the thread, are taken a while ago. The thread was started in 2008!

Here is a pic of it as of today:

It went through a full roadworthy 18 months ago and has just sat unused since, hence the sale. Despite the roadworthy I believe it will need some work. So it’s not perfect, but it’s a good rig with a lot of sought after parts and useful modifications that make it a solid performer off road and good on road. Well, as good as a Sierra can be on the road :-)

Located in Murarrie, Brisbane. Call me to arrange a time to inspect 0414 402 957. I'm not working at the moment so most times are OK.

$4000.
